It is in our nature to
travel into our past, hoping thereby to illuminate the darkness that
bedevils the present.

The cultural and
historic heritage of Canada are preserved and presented
in many different ways and in many different places.
Museums can contain items and artifacts from a previous
age, homes a reflection of those Canadians who lived in
them and the environment of their times. Forts can tell
us a lot about the politics and issues of their times
while archeological sites explain who ancient man and
animals lived in the environment of the area. Landmarks
are erected to remember a specific event, cause or issue
while the churches and religious sites reveal the soul
of the people of the country. All of these places from a
piece of the puzzle that gives us a greater
understanding of Canada and Canadians. |
